Server racks are standardized frames or enclosures, designed for mounting and organizing servers. Equipment designed for rack storage is described as a “rack-mount,” or rack-mountable. The height of a server rack shelf is standardized in multiples of 1.75 inches, constructed as one rack unit (1U).
